Tax laws in the United States require us to keep contact information and contribution levels of donors on file. As a tax exempt organization we are also required to file an annual IRS Form 990 giving an overview of the organization's activities, governance and detailed financial information.
Trillium Health uses industry standard safeguards to protect your information. We protect the security of credit card transactions using a number of measures such as encryption, access controls, network firewalls, and physical security. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use appropriate security measures.
Credit card numbers are used only for donation or payment processing and are not retained for any other purposes. Trillium Health has vendors that assist with processing and managing online donations and donor data. We give these vendors access to donor data. They are bound by strict confidentiality rules and are permitted to use this data only to support Trillium Health operations.
Access to donor financial information is strictly limited for internal organizational purposes. Access is restricted and available to necessary management, finance department team members, development and grant staff only.
Donor contact information (email, telephone number, and address) is used by our organization to provide receipts and acknowledgements to donors, provide donors with organization updates and send invitations to fundraiser events and other educational opportunities. We will not sell, trade or share a donor’s personal information nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.
When acknowledging a donor on our website or any print publication we may choose to list donors by giving level, but no specific dollar amount is associated with any individual. If you wish to remain anonymous, you may request to be removed from these listings at any time.
This statement is applicable to all Trillium Health’s donors, both online and offline. If you have questions about this Donor Privacy Statement or if you wish to be removed from our e-mail or postal contact lists, please reach out to us via email, phone or by mail.
