LGBTQ+ cultural competency training

Trillium Health offers LGBTQ+ training to community organizations that are looking to be more inclusive and affirming. With this training, you'll be able to:

  • Change your organization's culture and create an affirming environment

  • Learn the definitions of common LGBTQ+ terms

  • Identify phrases that can be offensive

  • Understand how to use language that is more inclusive

get to know Jess

Jessica Cohen (she/her) is the LGBTQ+ Education Coordinator at Trillium Health. A long-serving advocate for LGBTQ+ communities, Jess has over 15 years of experience providing workshops and training to healthcare and social service organizations, corporations, K-12 schools, and higher education. Additionally, she has served as a board member of GLSEN Rochester (Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network), coordinated LGBTQ+ youth programs and services, and co-facilitated GLSEN Rochester’s Jump-Start GSA Program and the Students of Color Organizing Program. Jess holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from SUNY Brockport and is a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP). Jess currently resides in Rochester with her wife and two children.

Facilitators meet with staff and/or consumers to observe and assess organization needs, practices, forms, etc. Facilitators provide follow up as needed and upon request.
