Trillium Health is committed to serving the LGBTQ+ community. We believe that everyone deserves high-quality health care, and we work hard to provide an open space where you can feel comfortable to be yourself.

Serving the LGBTQ+ community from the start

Our history is rooted in caring for the LGBTQ+ community. AIDS Rochester and Community Health Network, which later merged and became Trillium Health, were both founded in the 1980s in response to the AIDS epidemic and its tragic impact on the gay community. We are incredibly proud of that legacy, and we continue to build on that commitment to be a pillar of the local LGBTQ+ community.

OUR HISTORY

what sets us apart

Trillium Health isn't like other healthcare providers. We're proud to have a diverse team to serve our diverse patients. Here are just some of the ways we promote a culture of respect:

  • Every new employee goes through open space training

  • Team members wear pronoun pins next to their badge

  • We ask patients for their pronoun(s) and ask their preferred name

  • Our forms and records allow for a wide range of gender and sexual identities

  • We work hard to provide care in an environment free of judgement and stigma

  • Comprehensive and affirming LGBTQ+ specific care management services

LGBTQ+ training

Trillium Health offers free LGBTQ+ training to community organizations that are looking to be more inclusive and affirming for the LGBTQ+ community.
