SENATOR RICH FUNKE SECURES $500,000 NEW YORK STATE GRANT FOR TRILLIUM HEALTH SOUTH

—    Grant will support renovations for a new medical clinic serving women and children that will open in 2019 —

Rochester, New York (Oct. 30, 2018) —  At an event held today in partnership with Andrea DeMeo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Trillium Health, Senator Rich Funke announced that a $500,000 New York State grant he has secured will help fund improvements at a new medical clinic, “Trillium Health South” located at 170 Science Parkway in Rochester. The Trillium Health South clinic will open later in 2019.

The new clinic will focus on providing comprehensive health care to children and women, particularly those living in poverty. Women of all ages and children from birth, through adolescence and into young adulthood, will be served at Trillium Health South, including those who face barriers to quality care due to income level, in keeping with Trillium Health’s mission as a Federally Qualified Look-Alike.

The state grant secured by Senator Funke will be used to upgrade the interior of the building at 170 Science Parkway, which will be renovated to be both patient-friendly and compliant with New York State Department of Health requirements.

Patients who seek care at Trillium Health’s secondary location will be served with an expansive array of primary specialty health services in a holistic, patient-centered manner when the clinic opens in 2019. A Certificate of Need has been filed with New York State, and the review process is well underway. Trillium Health will share details about plans for Trillium Health South in the future.

“We’re excited to bring greater focus to the healthcare needs of women and children in our community, especially those who are most vulnerable,” said Trillium Health President and Chief Executive Officer Andrea DeMeo. “Everyone deserves great health care, and we’re thankful to Senator Funke for making much-needed improvements possible at Trillium South.”

"Children and women are the core of our community.  We must do absolutely everything possible to ensure they--and all underserved populations-- have what they need to thrive. Trillium is a proven success in our community,” said Senator Rich Funke.  This new health clinic is a clear demonstration of their leadership and commitment to the region and I'm proud of our collaboration."
