Trillium Health Hosts World AIDS Day Fundraiser

Nov 30, 2023

November 30, 2023 (Rochester, NY) – Trillium Health will hold a fundraiser to mark World AIDS Day on Thursday, November 30th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Native Rochester Eatery and Bar, located at 180 South Clinton Avenue, Rochester, NY 14604. This is the 35th Anniversary of World AIDS Day, which was first marked in 1988.

“World AIDS Day is a globally recognized event to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, honor those affected by the virus, and support organizations working tirelessly to eradicate the disease,” said Dr. William Valenti, Trillium Health’s co-founder and staff physician. “This is a night to reflect on the progress that we’ve made and to renew our commitment to end the HIV epidemic once and for all.”

The event at Native Rochester will feature an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and remarks.

“Since the early days of the epidemic, we have witnessed remarkable advancements in medical research, increased access to life-saving treatments, and a growing awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on underserved communities. However, despite the strides we've made, challenges persist, and many people living with HIV still face stigma and barriers to care,” said Dr. Valenti.

“World AIDS Day is one of the most important days of the year,” said Jason Barnecut-Kearns, President and CEO of Trillium Health. “Our guests will not only support a vital cause – they’ll also contribute to our ongoing efforts to eliminate stigma, increase awareness, and provide essential care to those affected by HIV/AIDS. We must ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to HIV prevention and treatment.”
