May 13, 2024

The collaboration between nonprofits and the County Clerk’s Office helps to expand access to critical DMV services to underserved community members.

May 13, 2024 (Rochester, NY) – Nonprofit organizations Trillium Health, East House, and Compeer Rochester are coming together to reduce barriers for underserved communities by hosting Mobile DMV services at Monroe Square (259 Monroe Avenue) on Monday, May 13th from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm. This is the second time the three organizations, all of which are located at Monroe Square, have partnered with Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo to make these DMV services more accessible to their clients and the public.

The Mobile DMV will be set up on the first floor of Monroe Square (Compeer). All DMV services will be available except for permit testing and CDL testing. This event is open to the public; no appointments are necessary. Mobile DMV clients are reminded to bring all required forms of ID for the service they are seeking. More information can be found at monroecounty.gov/dmv.

“Having easy access to DMV services is so critical for our patients and clients,” said Jason Barnecut-Kearns, President and CEO of Trillium Health. “A government-issued photo ID is essential for obtaining health insurance and applying for food and housing programs. In essence, it’s the first step in connecting people to care. We are incredibly grateful that Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo understands the importance of making DMV services available to everyone - especially the members of our community who need it the most. We’re also thrilled to partner with East House and Compeer to provide a variety of services all under one roof.”

“The County Clerk’s Office is incredibly proud to continue our partnership with Trillium, Compeer, and East House by providing Mobile DMV access to the often overlooked communities these organizations serve,” said Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo. “These organizations demonstrate genuine leadership and innovation each and every day as they seek to build bridges and identify new ways to expand the circles of opportunity here in Monroe County. The County Clerk’s Office is honored to join them again in these critical outreach efforts.”

“We are committed to collaborating with our neighbors, Trillium Health and Compeer Rochester to host a Monroe County Mobile DMV,” said Lindsay Gozzi-Theobald, East House President & CEO. “Our agencies each serve individuals who need resources, like the DMV, but have barriers that prevent them from gaining access. Bringing the DMV to people's fingertips through mobile services offers equitable access and empowers the people we serve to navigate essential documentation with ease and dignity. We appreciate and applaud County Clerk Romeo and her team for bringing these services directly to those who need them. We are thrilled for the opportunity to better serve our community along with Trillium Health and Compeer.”
