World AIDS Day FAQs

The Trillium Health Foundation's World AIDS Day is one of our signature fundraising events. It highlights the progress made and the work that still lies ahead as we strive toward an AIDS-free generation. This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the remarkable career of our founder, Dr. Bill Valenti.

Celebrated annually around the globe on December 1st since 1988, World AIDS Day is a day of remembrance, solidarity, and unity in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

The red ribbon became the universally recognized symbol of awareness and support for people living with HIV. Created in 1991, red was chosen for its boldness and its association with passion, the heart, and love.

Wear your favorite formal cocktail attire and add a pop of red! Don’t worry—there will be a coat check available.

Yes! The evening will feature grazing stations, an open bar, and plenty of entertainment.

There is a parking garage attached to the venue (entrances off Main St. or South Ave.), as well as street parking nearby.

Bring your dancing shoes, celebratory spirit, and some cash for tipping the wonderful staff and performers. We’ll also have donation options available via card, phone, cash, or check.
