from BLUEPRINT to Action - Ending the AIDS Epidemic Summit

Aug 4, 2015

Jason Roberts, Community Engagement & Innovation

We invite you to be part of the plan to End the Epidemic by 2020.

Please join us on August 13th from 9am-1pm for a community summit:
“Ending AIDS 2020: From Blueprint to Action”

The summit is facilitated by The End AIDS NY 2020 Community Coalition with efforts lead by Trillium Health in collaboration with the MOCHA Center and endorsed by Mayor Lovely Warren’s Office at the City of Rochester.
In 2012, New York State had the highest HIV prevalence rate among all U.S. jurisdictions. And, in key populations most vulnerable, HIV infections do not happen in isolation, but rather are tied to numerous contextual factors.
Including, but not limited to:

Poor health care – lack of access to medical insurance, culturally competent medical providers, education
Poverty – lack of housing & unemployment, survival sex work
Mental health problems – depression, substance abuse, religious guilt

Locally, addressing these areas of concern is complimentary to the work underway by the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative.

The Summit on August 13th will launch the implementation of the State’s Blueprint for Ending the Epidemic released on April 29, 2015, bringing together key stakeholders for daylong conversation about how we can best implement the Blueprint recommendations in the greater Rochester region.

To register for the event, held at Trillium Health, 259 Monroe Avenue in downtown Rochester, please click here.
