Statement On The FDA Approval Of The First Extended-Release, Injectable Drug For Adults Living With HIV

Jan 22, 2021

“Today is an extremely exciting day. For the first time, people living with HIV will have the option to use a long-acting injectable medication that can be administered once a month – instead of taking a daily pill. This is an important step forward in the treatment for HIV. It builds on more than 35 years of medical breakthroughs that will eventually help us to End the HIV Epidemic. Trillium Health hopes to have the medication available to its patients within the next several weeks. We encourage our patients to talk to their provider to see if it’s right for them.”
