Dr. Vattana is a Rochester native who graduated from Irondequoit High School in 2009. She went to the University of Buffalo for college where she completed her undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Spanish Language. She then stayed at the University of Buffalo to complete her medical doctorate. Dr. Vattana completed her residency training in General Pediatrics at Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester in June 2021, and became Board Certified in General Pediatrics in October of 2021. She joined Pathway Pediatrics in 2021 as a staff physician. In 2022, Dr. Vattana was accepted to the United Hospital Fund’s Pediatrics for an Equitable Developmental Start Learning Network Fellowship Program where, as a Fellow, she is working to improve access to breastfeeding resources and support to her patients and their families. She joined the World Professional Organization for Transgender Health Inc. (WPATH) in 2022 and will start Transgender Medicine for adolescents and young adults at Pathway Pediatrics in the fall of 2022. She was named Medical Director of Pathway Pediatrics in June of 2022.
Dr. Vattana’s professional interests are in puberty education, adolescent medicine and addressing inequities in health education for youth, but she adores caring for patients of all ages! In her spare time, Dr. Vattana enjoys running and indoor cycling as well as traveling, exploring new restaurants and volunteering as a board member of the Laotian American Scholarship Foundation of Rochester. Her favorite part of Rochester is its rich history of progressive thinkers and innovators, and she is thrilled to be able to contribute to Rochester’s future as a pediatrician.
