Patients & Clients

Consumer Council

Hands Raised CROP.jpgThe Consumer Council (formerly the Patient and Client Advisory Committee or PAC) is the client and patient voice of Trillium Health.  The Consumer Council advocates for the best possible care and services for all patients and clients.

The Consumer Council:
•    promotes communications between the agency and our peers;
•    works to ensure a good experience for all patients, clients, their families, and loved ones;
•    provides educational, networking, and social opportunities; and
•    provides input and dialog regarding agency quality activities.

Your participation in the Consumer Council is important because we are no longer just patients and clients.  We are partners in the care, treatment, and services we receive; we are the voice and ambassadors of other Trillium Health patients and clients who cannot be at the table for whatever reason; and we are one of the primary links between the HIV community and the agency that keeps us strong.

So if you wish to have a say and be a partner in the care and services you receive at Trillium Health, consider becoming a member of the Consumer Council.  We provide a safe and comfortable environment where you can learn first-hand what is happening at the agency and are encouraged to share your thoughts and ideas.

The Consumer Council is open to all Trillium Health patients, clients, and their caregivers and meets the third Tuesday of each month in the Bud Shaw, Jr. Room at Trillium Health’s Monroe Avenue offices.  Beginning at 12:15 p.m. with a light lunch, followed by a business meeting from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., monthly meetings are often highlighted by an educational presentation. Upcoming meeting dates, topics, and events are posted in the Health Services and Client Services lobbies and in the dining room.

For more information on the Consumer Council or this month’s topic, please contact Rich Fowler, Trillium Health Consumer and Community Relations Manager and the council’s staff liaison.  Rich can be reached by email at rfowler@trilliumhealthny.org, by phone directly at 585-210-4129, or toll free at 800-266-9292, extension 4129.
