Harm Reduction Services: Opioid Overdose Prevention & Naloxone/Narcan Training

Trillium Health offers FREE ongoing Opioid Overdose Prevention Trainings to the Public

In 2018, there were 1,133 reported opioid overdoses in Monroe County alone, with 166 fatalities. Naloxone/Narcan is the drug that reverses an opioid overdose. In 2018 Trillium Health’s Opioid Overdose Prevention Program trained  2,495 individuals and distributed over 2,300 naloxone/Narcan kits with 304 opioid overdose reversals reported.

Trillium Health is offering free community trainings in opioid overdose recognition, prevention, and reversal using naloxone.

WHEN:                 4th Saturday of every month, 1:00 - 2:30 pm

FREE & OPEN to the public

Upon completion, trained participants will be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose, administer naloxone properly, and take necessary follow-up steps. Participants in the Trained Overdose Responder program also receive at no cost a naloxone kit.
